Industrial-Organizational Psychology students at Middle Tennessee State University are getting real-world experience collaborating with the Tennessee Highway Patrol to identify future leaders for the agency. This summer, more than 200 THP troopers and sergeants vying for promotions underwent a multifaceted examination process designed by students and faculty in MTSU's Center for Organizational and Human Resource Effectiveness, or COHRE.

The University Honors College at Middle Tennessee State University has selected nine students to serve as ambassadors for the 2024-25 academic year.

Attending the state of Tennessee's Day on the Hill at the state Capitol may be one of the high points in the collegiate career of Middle Tennessee State University graduate student Rebecca White. In February, White joined the Tennessee Psychological Association leadership team to meet with lawmakers about legislation affecting the profession and those served by it.

Middle Tennessee State University sophomore Victoria Grigsby earned a spot as a Delta Scholar in the 2024 Delta Scholars Program.

Two students have been named as inaugural Andrew Goodman Foundation Ambassadors at Middle Tennessee State University. Created in 1966, the Foundation supports youth leadership development, voting accessibility, and social justice initiatives on campuses across the country with mini grants to select institutions of higher learning and other financial assistance to students.

Twelve Honors students from Middle Tennessee State University made presentations at the annual Tennessee Collegiate Honors Council (TCHC) conference held Feb. 9-10 at Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee.

Two Middle Tennessee State University Honors students were named the 2023 Homecoming King and Queen. Alexander Hamilton, a senior organizational communication major from Falkville, Alabama, and Lily Beth Woods, a senior finance major from Murfreesboro, were crowned 2023 Homecoming King and Queen by MTSU President Sidney A. McPhee during halftime ceremonies in Floyd Stadium Saturday, Sept. 23. Both are Blue Elite Tour Guides and involved in the University Honors College. Hamilton serves as an MTSU student ambassador and with the Student Organization for Advancement in Research, while Woods is an Student Government Association senator and member of Epsilon Tau chapter of Alpha Delta Pi.

Middle Tennessee State University video and film production major Brian Maxwell is already taking what is has learned and is using it to give back to the local community in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. A former inmate himself, he understands the importance of education to reduce recidivism and he is using his own equipment to provide a unique learning experience for some of those currently incarcerated at the Rutherford County Correctional Work Center.
